Teri Baatein...

Tassavur is a urdu word means constant thought of beloved. In our young age we start making an Ideal Image, our better half, to be partner in life. Tassavur is talking to that ideal image, to remain in thought of her. She remained with me all the times, walked with me on all the roads and became a source of inspiration for me. But as we grow in the age and started facing the world, we try to find such a person in reality. But reality is reality and Ideas are ideas :).. In the words of Ghalib -

"Dil dhoondhta hain phir
wohi fursat ke raat din,
Baithe rahe tassavur-e-jaana
kiye hue"

Following poem is an attempt to depict some of those times.....

Athah samunder si

gahree teri batein,
Kate na raat din
kaisi teri batein;

Kyun silsila shuroo ye huan,
Lambi teri baatein,
waqt ye thahar sa gaya,
Dilkash teri baatein;

Andhero ke sath chal padi,
Roshan teri baatein,
Ekant ko mita ye gayee,
Roj ki ye teri baatein;

Roka to khud ko khoob,
Ruk na saki baatein,
manaya to khud ko khoob,
kah na saki baatein;

Dooba jo samunder main,
Kinara teri baatein,
Har waqt mridu sameer si,
Satayen teri baatein
Baatein teri baatein..

  1. I tried to sing this poem ...actually this is one of those poems which must be recited ..and sung through .... every single line is sung so well.... you know the rhyme goes pretty well... except at this line :

    एकांत को मिटा ये गयी
    रोज की ये तेरी बातें

    Instead I feel it could be better like this (I'm sorry ..I know poets know it better) but if you change it a bit .. I can sing better at these lines... :)
    एकांत को मिटा ये गयी
    तेरी रोज की बातें

    Thanks
